Professor Macfie recently published two essays on Shakespeare.
"The sonnets and narrative poems: Shakespeare, Ovid, reversal, and surprise" has appeared in The Routledge Companion to Shakespeare and Classical Literature.
"Interpreting the Weird Sisters: Page, Stage, and Screen" has appeared in Critical Insights: Macbeth.
Professor Macfie is also delighted to welcome the American Shakespeare Center's production of Macbeth to the Sewanee stage in thanksgiving for the inspired and inspiring life of her School of Letters colleague Ann Jennalie Cook.
Finally, Macfie presented a paper on The American Shakespeare Center's 2015 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream in a plenary session at the Center's 2017 Blackfriars Conference in the fall of 2017.
